Back in February, BoomBozz Pizza in Carmel hosted a group of awesome children from a local elementary school for a field trip. It was part of a school program where they learned how businesses worked and what went into buying and selling all of the products for a business. The children received a tour of the restaurant, got a brief speech by one of our managers about the costs of goods and what went into the pricing, then got to top it off by each making their own individual pizza to enjoy for lunch.
During that field trip, we had the great opportunity to meet one amazing little guy named Mason Unton. Mason was born with cerebral palsy after suffering from a stroke before birth. His mom, Kristy, who was a chaperone of the field trip, told us about Mason's upcoming birthday and what he had asked for in lieu of presents. Mason's dream for his birthday was to raise money to donate to the Indiana Children's Wish Fund, a charity group that is near and dear to his heart.
Kristy asked if we would be willing to donate anything to his fund raising campaign, so we set up a "Fund Day" during every Tuesday in March in honor of "Pulling for Mason" and the Indiana Children's Wish Fund. We donated 15% of the total bill for every guest that turned in a "Pulling for Mason" flyer. At the end of the month we were able to award Mason with a check for $300 to contribute to making his birthday dream come true! Boombozz Pizza was honored to be a part of this fundraising campaign and are even more thrilled to have Mason and his family as life-long friends of the restaurant.
Way to go, Mason!
